Amira’s tattoo features two feathers crossed over one another, as a reminder that things can be hard but still beautiful. Amira explains that this tattoo reminds her that “real joy comes from acknowledging the duality within all of us.”
The idea for the tattoo occurred during a time in her life where she was given many opportunities to choose between two very different directions, in which she was reminded that there is an aspect of darkness in each of our existences that we must honour.
Since being inked, Amira says that her tattoo is “a reminder that those hard, heavy moments belong and are opportunities to show myself compassion – to grow in a healing way.”
