Julia: Eternal love

Julia has a tattoo on her wrist to represent her late grandmother’s initials and the day she passed away. The tattoo is small and dainty, with cursive writing like her grandmother’s. Julia picked her left wrist as it was her left hand holding her grandmother’s hand when she took her last few breaths. Julia explains that her grandmother’s legacy “has always been about kindness and laughter, and looking down at this tattoo is a constant reminder.”

This was Julia’s first tattoo. She got it when she turned 18 as a way of having a piece of her grandmother with her. Julia notes that the process of being tattooed was quite healing. She explains: “I think just having that permanency on me is a permanent reminder of her eternal love for our family.”
