Liliane is a 47-year-old woman from Victoria. She is using her healing tattoo to empower herself, and likes to keep it mostly to herself. She said she decided to use a cystic nevus for the top part of the semi-colon, and that the Roman numeral format makes it more difficult for people to know the date. She picked the left wrist so she could hide it under her watch as needed, letting her choose who gets access to her story.
Her tattoo has given her strength. It reminds her daily how far she’s come and to be proud of having built a new life, after what she thought was the very end of her old one. Liliane shares, “To me, it is like having a perpetual post-it on my left wrist, reminding me of the most important decision I made in my life.”
