Prairie Human is a 27-year-old woman from Regina, Saskatchewan. Prairie Human has a memorial tattoo for her grandpa. It includes a tea cup with his handwriting and flowers for each member of her family. The handwriting is from a card he gave her before he died and the tea cup was chosen because they would always drink tea at his house. As for the flowers, Prairie Human says, “The raspberries are for my grandma, honeysuckle for my sister as she has a bumblebee tattooed on her, [and] sweet peas and lavender for my parents.” She picked the overall design and the specific flowers, and the tattoo artist put it together. Prairie Human picked the location of the tattoo so she could hide it if necessary.

When speaking of her papa, Prairie Human says, “My papa was the most amazing man, and we were very close. Even though he did not like my other tattoos, I think he really would have liked this one. I feel closer to him and feel like I am carrying his love with me wherever I go. He died of a heart attack during my third year of university, and I got the tattoo during my fourth year.”
