Leah: Infinite Love

Leah never wanted a tattoo; however, after a close friend was diagnosed with cancer the importance of getting something to remind her always grew. After her friend was diagnosed, she took a bunch of her female friends out for dinner and gifted each with a beautiful bracelet with a heart and an infinity charm intertwined, and let them know that she was going to lean on them, her “army of sisterhood and friendship with infinite love.”

Leah felt her friend’s presence in the bracelet. It held a lot of significance for her and when it was lost, she would feel panicked. The bracelet eventually had to be replaced, and when Leah confided in her friend that she was considering getting a tattoo, her friend stated that maybe they could combine their tattoo ideas. Time got away from them, and her friend ended up at a hospice. Leah reminded her friend of the tattoo she was thinking of getting, and her friend drew it for her. Leah took the original drawing and had it interpreted by an artist, and added her friend’s initial “L” in her penmanship. She originally wanted to get it on her wrist, but after a family meeting and fear of her mother’s disapproval, she decided to place it somewhere she could hide when needed.

Leah’s tattoo is the hand of Fatima with a heart and infinity symbol within it, with her friend’s “L” underneath the heart and infinity symbol. It is located on her inner lower leg.
